Graduation at Cedar Crest College involves two key components, and it's important to be aware of both as you prepare to complete your degree. Many students focus only on the Commencement Ceremony, but graduation also includes the formal completion of your academic requirements.

Degree/Certificate Completion – Graduation primarily refers to earning your academic credential, which is officially awarded by the Registrar’s Office once all degree requirements are met.

Commencement Ceremony – This is a celebratory event recognizing your academic achievements.

ACADEMIC INFORMATION

Graduation is the official process of earning your degree or certificate, as certified by the Registrar's Office. To graduate and receive your credential from the college, you must complete all academic program requirements. However, participation in the commencement ceremony is separate from graduation. Students may be eligible to walk in the ceremony even if they have not yet fulfilled all degree requirements.

CEREMONY PARTICIPATION

We are thrilled to have the opportunity to celebrate your hard work and academic achievements with you at our annual commencement ceremony this May. This special occasion will honor your dedication, perseverance, and success throughout your academic journey, and we can't wait to share this momentous event with you and your loved ones.

Participation in the ceremony is optional and official diplomas are not handed to students as they walk across the stage. However, we encourage you to consider joining us for this occasion! Students intending to complete their degree programs within the ceremonie's academic year are eligible to walk in the ceremony.

(!) Students finishing their degree programs the fall semester may choose to participate either before or after they complete their programs.

• Confirming personal information to be utilized for diploma and ceremony purposes

Commencement Ceremony Information:

Cedar Crest College holds its annual commencement exercises each May, offering a single event for all eligible students. To participate, students must be completing a degree program within the academic year of the ceremony, including the Fall, Spring, and Summer terms. Students who are intending to complete their degree program in the Fall term after the ceremony may choose to participate in the May ceremony either before or after finishing their degree.
