Students who wish to update their preferred first name for use in non-legal college records may do so without legal documentation. However, official documents such as transcripts, diplomas, and financial aid records will continue to reflect the student's legal name unless legally changed. Items displaying a student’s preferred campus name include:

Students changing their Campus Name should be aware of the following:

• Official documents such as transcripts and financial aid records will continue to reflect the student's legal name unless legally changed and officially reported to Cedar Crest College.
• Identification and Campus Services: Students who update their campus name may turn in their current ID card and receive a replacement ID card with the new name. Class rosters, email, and other campus systems may require some processing time to receive updated name information.

• Changing your campus name will also update the name shown in your student email address. It is not possible to change your campus name without affecting your email display name.
