The College views a student’s spiritual development as an integral part of her educational experience. To this end, Cedar Crest provides students of all faiths the opportunity to seek avenues of personal growth. The chaplain is available for support and counseling on spiritual concerns and you may contact Dr. Allen Richardson at 610-606-4666, extension 3320.

The CDI will also work with individual students to create avenues and partnerships to best support student development and spaces for spiritual growth and reflection. For more information please reach out to Tatiana Diaz 610-606-4666, extension 3596.

Spaces for Prayer and Services

The chaplain facilitates on-campus activities for students of all faiths and assists all students who wish to interact with a local faith community. (The Allentown area is home to many religions and denominations.) Campus religious activities include worship services, interest groups, and various other programs. please contact Dr. Allen Richardson at 610-606-4666, extension 3320.  Or you can also contact The CDI as we  collaborate with Chaplain office in supporting students needs, development and programing. Chapel

Be advise because of COVID-19 restrictions the Chapel will be mainly used for academic purposes during the academic year of 2020-21  
Located in Alumnae Hall, the Cedar Crest Chapel is intended to be an open space for our students to use for prayer and reflection. Occasional services are hosted in the space.

RELIGIOUS HOLIDAYS 

Embodying a culturally and spiritually diverse community, Cedar Crest College recognizes that on important or solemn religious days, some of our community members will observe practices that preclude them from attending to their regular duties, whether faculty members, staff, or students. On such days, it is important for all who do not share in these practices to understand and work with their colleagues and students.

Cedar Crest College supports students from a diversity of faith traditions. When a religious observation conflicts with a scheduled class, students should report and discuss the conflict with their faculty at the beginning of the semester and work with the instructor to make the necessary arrangements to ensure the course requirements are met.
