Bachelor's Degrees

To be granted a bachelor's degree from Cedar Crest College, you must satisfy four mandatory requirements:

  • Submission of an Official Graduation Application
  • Completion of the Liberal Arts Curriculum (LAC)
  • Obtain a minimum of 120 undergraduate credits
  • Obtain a minimum Grade Point Average of 2.0000
  • Completion of a major area of study

Graduating with an Honors Designation

Per our college policy, undergraduate students meeting the following criteria are eligible to graduate with an honors distinction: they must have earned a minimum of 60 graded credits from Cedar Crest and maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.550 or higher. It's essential to understand that, for commencement purposes, GPAs will be computed as of April 1st and will not incorporate final grades for full spring or spring II coursework. If your GPA changes after final grades are factored in and you subsequently meet the criteria for an honors distinction, the appropriate designation will be reflected on your transcript and diploma.

  • 3.800 or higher - Summa Cum Laude (With Highest Honors)
  • 3.650 or higher - Magna Cum Laude (With High Honors)
  • 3.550 or higher - Cum Laude (With Honors)

Graduation Applications

After consulting with your assigned advisor(s), if it is determined that you will complete your requirements in an upcoming term, you may apply for graduation when the registrar's office begins accepting applications for that term. Typically, a graduation term will become available when the last graduation cycle ends. All students must apply to graduate before the posted deadlines in order to be reviewed and approved for degree conferral.

Before submitting your official graduation application, please check with your advisor on established requirements are set to be met before your chosen graduation date. A degree will not be awarded if there are any outstanding requests.

Graduation Application Deadlines:

  • Fall Graduation (January) - Applications due August 1st
  • Spring Graduation (May) - Applications due December 1st
  • Summer Graduation (August) - Applications due March 1st

All graduates participating in the commencement ceremony must have their applications submitted by April 1st for inclusion in the commencement program and scrolling marquee.
