Independent Study Requests
Independent studies offer students the flexibility to explore topics and projects outside traditional coursework. This unique learning path typically allows students to work one-on-one with a faculty supervisor. Through independent studies, students can explore specialized areas, conduct research, or pursue creative projects with tailored guidance and support.
Independent studies are also available if you need a specific course at Cedar Crest College that isn’t offered in the current or upcoming semester. All independent studies require approval from your advisor, the department's academic chair, and the Provost.
We recommend that you express your interest to the department before requesting your independent study. Not doing so may result in lengthy delays in processing your request.
